STEPHEN IS MVP

Basketball? Who doesn't love basketball? Coming from a country who loves the sport so much you can see a basketball court in every Barangay (sometimes even in an alley or street corner or a basketball ring on houses nailed on its wall ), I grew up watching the sport. I remember watching PBA championship between Alaska and my favorite team Sunkist with my entire family. I was rooting for my favorite local team with my favorite players Vergel Meneses, Boybits Victoria, Kenneth Duremdes & Bonel Balingit. That was in 1995 (if I am not mistaken) and I was only a young child.

But since Japanese Animation and I met, basketball was set aside and anime became my addiction. And then, K-DRAMA and of course my oppa Lee Joon Gi! But I believe my love for Basketball is never lost.

It was proven when I started watching NBA in late 2015. Call me a bandwagon (I don't care!), but one player rekindled my love for basketball. It was STEPHEN CURRY.

It is his faith and how bold he is in professing it that has pointed me back to Basketball. I got curious as to who is this guy who is a two-time NBA MVP (back to back and unanimous)

ENGKWENTRO: GROUP ART EXHIBITION

I know it is already April but why am I still posting about a February event? Forgive me for updating late but I can't move on posting about other things if I will skip this event in my life. Until now, I am still very much honored that I was part of the Art Exhibition. To see my name (although there is a typo error in the spelling in which I am already used to ^_^ ) in a Tarpaulin written along the names of professional artists is such an achievement.

The "Engkwentro: Group Art Exhibition" was conducted in celebration of the National Arts Month. The week-long celebration was held in the Atrium of Robinsons Mall - Butuan City. Workshops, 3D Art Competition and an on-the-spot Body Painting were among the activities of the said event. Artists from the City of Butuan and from the two provinces of Agusan gathered together and brought their masterpieces for the exhibit.

I feel so blessed to be able to showcase my talent. The exhibit was also an avenue to see and appreciate the works of fellow artists and to meet them personally. What an honor! It was my third group exhibit and it never failed to bring joy to me. It warmed my heart to see people gather around my painting and taking selfies ^_^

Here's the photo ( Photo taken by Kuya Dubz ) of my painting entitled "Mophead"

And here's the most exciting part for me! The body painting! Exciting. I say? Because it was my first time doing body painting AND I DID IT IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE! I am not used to that. I am comfortable painting in my room, isolating my self from the scrutiny of people. And take note, the model designated to me is a MALE! I felt so ANXIOUS when I first learned that my model is a male. I am the conservative type, you know. ^_^ BUT FOR ART'S SAKE, I did it! But the INNOCENCE of my paint brush was gone! 😆

So here it is. The model errr I mean the painting. From cloth canvas to body canvas.

What? Yeah, that's me with the red sketchbook together with my fellow artist. Look at us so focused - looking intently on our live reference while sketching.

And here we are! The artists and the models.
